Paper Foggles

Instrument rated pilots, and those earning their rating, need a means of limiting their vision outside the aircraft during training in VMC to simulate flying strictly by instruments on the panel. These view limiting devices are sometimes referred to as foggles. You'll find several "foggle" designs out there. Most attach with a strap around your head or to a hat. If you wear glasses these Paper Foggles are a simple approach that only requires slipping a piece of paper behind your glasses. Just print the template, cut the outline, and fold the edges. The sides fold back and the top folds over to hold it in place. Then, just drop it behind your glasses. You can modify the design with some scissors to fit your glasses, as needed.
