KIDI - Jimmy Stewart Airport |
The airport terminal has the Riziki restaurant for breakfast and lunch. While you are there, find a way into town (courtesy car or Uber). The Jimmy Stewart Museum is something every pilot should visit. There's even a screening room that runs his movies. Walk the town where he grew up and see the steps from town up to his home. Stewart flew a B-24 on 20 combat missions in WWII.

Rent a golf cart and go into town, see Perry's Monument. Right on the centline of runway 03, you won't miss it. Have lunch on the bay!

The Runway Risorante at the airport is under new ownership (August 2024) is open for dinner after 4pm and planning on lunch service on Sunday and Wednesday. Other option is to get the crew car to town and dine at Bella Cucina with best food around.

Nemacolin is a private airport with prior permission required by phone and landing. Be sure to check their websit for current status since they close for special events. The resort Chateau is right next to runway. There's a zoo, restaurants, and thing to do. There's no resort or landing fee. They pick you up from the parking ramp at the north end.

Go in summer and wander down the rows of hangars. Friendly GA airport tenants. There was a restaurant but it has apparently closed.

Park right in front of Magoo's Pizza. In summer, Miller's Creamery has a small outdoor store in walking distance right next to the airport. There's also 5 Barrel Bullet Brewing too.

TSO - Carroll County |
Carroll Co. Airport Restaurant is a tried and true restaurant open almost every day except holidays. Also, walk north on the Bluebird trail to the park and small covered bridge. There's ocasionally a restaurant in the Bluebird Farm park. Head on north up the gravel road and into town for other choices. BTW, check the waypoints on the RNAV (GPS) RWY 7 instrument procedure.
